Do worries keep you up at night?
Do whatever you have to do to solve
and eliminate them.
Work hard during the day
so you can sleep well at night
with your mind at ease.
And so ends our sleep babysteps series!
I hope this has been super helpful.
What steps have changed your life the most?
For the first time in my life,
I recently started snoring on a regular basis.
It was keeping my husband up.
He actually took video of me
and sent it to me in the morning to prove it!
(I didn’t believe him.)
I didn’t know what to do,
but accidentally found a quick fix!
I use a humidifier/vaporizer occasionally to prevent dry, sore throats,
but I’ve been informed it cures snoring as well.
Now, there may still be another reason,
but this simple solution is worth a try!
Bonus if you use relaxing oils or eucalyptus.
Pine needle is my favorite.
How do books affect your sleep?
A long, boring one will put you to sleep.
An exciting novel will keep you up all night.
A difficult, educational book will wear you out.
But what kind is best before bed?
May I suggest a biography?
They’re usually easy to read
at a leisurely pace.
Learning from a great person’s life
and absorbing it over night
just might change you.
Have you ever gone to bed
mentally exhausted but unable to sleep
because your body seems restless?
Yeah, me too.
Most of us are too sedentary to sleep well.
It’s telling you that you didn’t move enough
or burn enough physical energy.
Physical work or exercise is the best cure.
So get out there and do something!
Dance, hike, workout, yard work,
fast home cleaning…
Whatever you can do easily.
Today’s babystep is to stick with it.
You should be listening to your reminder alarms,
taking your melatonin or other sleep aids,
and closing your eyes on time.
Just focus on those 4 today.
You’re doing great!
